I aim for images that are strong in movement, connection, authenticity. That capture a true representation of the life between you all. That little spark; THAT is what interests me as a photographer. The kind of moment that gives you goosebumps when it happens.
My approach to family photography falls into the "lifestyle" category. Lifestyle falls somewhere between between 'posed' and 'documentary' and if I was pushed, I would say my approach is 10% posing you and 90% about just capturing you all together in the best light available.
As a 'Superfeel' photographer, my approach might differ to other photographers you have worked with in the past. I am interested in capturing the connections between you all. I do this through my approach; how I relate to you; and how I subtly encourage you to interact and relate to each other.
I actively encourage playfulness in children at my shoots; I discourage bribing (leave those lollypops and packs of Haribo at home!). I connect with your children easily by being interested, finding out about them, playing games, challenging them! And in turn, naturally relaxing them in front of the camera. Relaxed children ALWAYS means...relaxed parents ;-)
I then look to capture the subtleness; the sparkle; the unseen. The quiet moments; the noisy moments. Togetherness and closeness. The details and the scene.
Authentic and natural and subtly posed; you will get a good range of images where you're all very natural and interacting with one another.
